New cleaning machine checks in at Stansted January 1st 2006 Apowerful new ride-on sweeper scrubber dryer from Nilfisk-Alto is used at London Stansted Airport, to keep an aircraft maintenance hangar spotless.
The LPG-powered ATS 46 operates in and around the six bays where engineering staff of SR Technics UK look after narrow-body Airbus and Boeing aircraft. With its 1524mm sweeping path and 1170mm scrubbing path, the machine can clean up to 9360m2/h, travelling at 8km/h.
Easy to operate and manoeuvre, it has a 283L hopper for swept dirt and 265L solution and recovery tanks. An AccuTrack squeegee system ensures that the machine leaves a clean, dry trail behind it.
There is a choice of power sources: 63HP petrol/LPG, 37HP diesel or 36V battery. A similarly powered variant - the ATS 53 offers a wider cleaning path, enabling it to cover up to 10 800m2/h.
