Stress Free Tank Solution January 1st 2006 Aviation services provider Servisair/GlobeGround is using an Allibert Helix plastic bulk tank at Manchester Airport's Terminal Two as part of a supply contract with Brotherton Speciality Products.
The tank will be used to store Ecowing 26, a fluid used to de-ice aircraft before take-off. Although largely inert, the product falls under increasingly stringent environmental regulations and must be stored safely and bunded to 110%.
The tank's ease of use means de-icing rigs can fill up easily, giving a rapid turnaround time when going out to treat planes on the airfield.
It was produced using the Allibert Helix winding process that creates a stress-free tank with no seams.
Designed for a working life of at least 20 years, the tank offers a maintenancefree service life and, due to its size-to-weight ratio, is easy to handle on site.
