Barrier role
July 1st 2005 Unipart Logistics has seen health and safety improve following the installation by Caljan Rite-Hite of a Dok-Guardian safety barrier, one of the first European installations for the product.
The barrier will prevent fork lift trucks and pedestrians from falling off loading docks. Should the Dok- Guardian be opened when there is no vehicle at the dock, an alarm will sound and warning lights will flash. The same happens in the event of a vehicle moving too far from the bumper face during the loading/ unloading operation.
Unipart Logistics also invested in some dock levellers – telescopic lip levellers that give a high level of flexibility with regard to the positioning of the lip on the vehicle bed. More articles from Caljan Rite-Hite Ltd: |
