Safe, flexible barriers November 1st 2008 When Sainsbury's fitted out
its RDC in Northampton it
turned to Berry Systems
for safety barriers for the
50 000m2 building. Berry
had supplied barriers to
some of Sainsbury's other
distribution centres, so the
company had first hand
experience of the product's
effectiveness and durability.
The total installation
involved almost 2km of
safety barriers, most of it
mounted on Berry's spring
steel buffers or Flexi-Posts.
Both systems allow the
barrier to absorb impacts
and so reduce damage to
the vehicle and the barrier.
This lessens the forces
on the anchor points and
helps reduce the need for
repairs to the concrete.
Berry also installed 600
bollards and wheel guides
and 49 column protection
units to protect columns
from impacts from warehouse
vehicles or HGVs. More articles from Berry Systems: |
