Easy to control
September 1st 2003

A. O. Smith has introduced a new feature on all its ADMR and BFC gas-fired direct water heaters to combat the risk of Legionella. The new ThermoControl is easy to control and understand. An optional maintenance programme means the temperature can be set to run a cycle at 80C to destroy any Legionella bacteria. Addition of the ThermoControl means both the ADMR and BFC come complete with a BMS at a competitive price. A large, vivid display panel shows messages in English rather than in codes, while a modem connection means the user can easily control and analyse data from the system off-site. As water temperature is sampled eight times every second, it is very accurate in terms of predicting hot water required. It also allows for the fact that water at the top of the tank will be hotter by making the necessary adjustments to prevent scalding. The ADMR is offered in seven models with inputs from 37 to 131kw.
