Fuel bills cut September 1st 2005 A heating decentralisation project at ArvinMeritor’s plant in South Wales has halted inefficient fuel consumption and ensured the factory is both economical to heat and comfortable for personnel.
The site’s previous system was increasingly inefficient. It was also unable to counteract cold northerly winds. A heating system that could ventilate and provide free cooling in summer was needed.
A total of 14 Nordair RM roof mounted, gas-fired combined heating and ventilation units were installed to heat the centre and end sections of the building. At the front, three Nordair DF direct gasfired units deliver heated air across the doorway to prevent cold air infiltrating. The units provide warm air at critical velocity – this produces a slight pressurisation within the building, forcing a mix with room air for even heat distribution. More articles from Ambirad Ltd: |
