Saves energy May 1st 2005 Portable, lightweight induction heaters have been introduced by SKF to enable easy bearing mounting.
The induction coil of the TIH 030m has been placed outside the housing. By wrapping the coils around a column on the heater, the bearing can be slotted around the column. This is said to give shorter heating time and lower energy consumption.
The device can heat a 28kg bearing in 20min and has a heating capacity of 40kg bearing weight. A potential problem when heating a bearing is the creation of magnetic fields. SKF says it has removed this threat by including a demagnetisation cycle in the TIH 030m. The heater will not affect the lubrication of the bearing More articles from SKF (UK) Limited: |
