Large scale solution

Having the capability to increase storage capacity is critical for many businesses and, for Tradewood Agencies in Belfast, it has proved to be the case that bigger is certainly better.

The company's warehouse is a massive structure; a Rubb Triple Link BVE with a 101m span x 95m length provides a floor area of 9595m2, giving ample space to store timber and timber products.

The front gables have extended canopies over the doors to give protection from the elements. This is further enhanced with the gable of the middle building being set back to provide an under cover area for the loading and unloading of goods. The interior sidewalls were clad with Magnesium Silicate Board to provide a 1h fire-wall; the material is low weight and provides good insulation. Other features include roof fans and a syphonic drainage system.

Enthusing about Rubb staff, Leo Bagnall, director at Tradewood, says "They were hard-working and fast to react when changes were required, all of which were crucial ingredients for a smooth erection of a building of this size."
