Hand dryers count ten seconds to blast off March 1st 2008 Instead of evaporating moisture
from wet hands like conventional
dryers, the Mitsubishi Jet Towel
uses two high speed wafer thin
airflows to blast hands dry. The
system, which atomises and
collects the water, means hands
can dry in just 10 seconds.
Sensors start the 180 mph air
flow when hands are placed into a
slot and moisture is blown
downwards from the hands to the
drain. On retraction the flow stops.
Non-contact operation saves
energy as the airflow does not
continue after the user has
departed. It also avoids any
bacterial transfer, a factor
enhanced by anti-microbial
construction materials.
Environmental credentials are
high as the use of paper towels is
avoided, and power consumption
is said to be a fraction of alternative
dryers, as a low power storage
heating system is used for instant
warmth. Quick and 'whisper quiet',
this hi-tech dryer is now in its
seventh generation. More articles from Mitsubishi Electric Europe: |
