Baler success March 1st 2004 Textile manufacturer Don Low has reduced its waste factor from 3.5 to 0.2% and become more eco-friendly since installing a Welger SB 2000 baler at its Forfar site.
Waste material is now cut automatically from aluminium cores, baled, palletised and re-used. Previously, waste collection was handled manually which was very labour intensive. The baler can use polypropylene twine to secure bales which, in turn, becomes part of the recycling process. A service contract has been taken out with Lely Recycling Engineering.
