Waste bins that communicate with their owners are set to become a reality following the creation by Wastetracker of a remote waste monitoring system that enables organisations to monitor their waste efficiently.

Wastetracker Early Alert enables companies to use the Internet to ensure they are complying with environmental legislation by checking on waste that is stored or in the process of being disposed of. The system can send emails or a text message to users and collection companies when a container is full.

It works on liquid storage tanks as well as dry waste compactors.
