Compacts waste costs May 1st 2005 Gift pack and packaging specialist, Presentation Products, has chosen a Simpak 1800 unit from Randalls Fabrications to compact non-recyclable waste at its site on the outskirts of Arbroath
Waste is made up mainly of board and paper that is collected for recycling by a local contractor. The Simpak 1800 is used for foil, plastics and any other materials that cannot be recycled. It is emptied by Biffa Waste Management and is on a 5-year rental contract
Compacting the waste reduces both the transport costs and disruption of waste collection as the unit needs only to be emptied twice a week. The container is closed, so waste cannot be blown about. One of a range of units, the Simpak 1800 has a 1.7m3 charge box and a 7.5kW motor driving up to a nominal 130m3/h, at a compaction force of 28 000kgf. Fast and powerful, the machine compacts waste so efficiently that 8t can be removed in one load. More articles from Randalls Fabrications: |
