Staying within the law
September 1st 2005

Aware of the September 1st deadline for compliance with the Oil Storage Regulations, Steve Gibbons, building surveyor with the West Midlands Police, wanted to ensure that all sites under his remit were fully compliant.

He asked Empteezy to carry out site assessments with regard to spill response kits and the safe storage of liquids.

For each site visited, Empteezy provided a comprehensive and cost effective report explaining any potential hazard and recommending an appropriate solution to ensure that the correct equipment would be available in the event of a spill or accidental discharge.

Areas surveyed included emergency generators and garages.

Gibbons took up Empteezy’s offer of an awareness course to get an understanding of when and how materials should be used and disposed of.
