Lines head east July 1st 2007 An American multi-national has
awarded a contract, worth £850 000,
to Atkin Automation. The turnkey
package comprises two automated
production lines for the
manufacture of shelving for use in
European supermarkets. It will be
UK designed and made, but is
destined for the Czech Republic.
Equipment will include a 10 000kg
decoiler, a motorised straightener
with photobeam loop control and a
servo roll feed. Notching units,
hydraulic shears and end benders,
conveyor system and stack and
de-stack units will be incorporated
to ensure an output of about 10
shelves/min.
The second line will be used to
