Centrifugal separators help with clean-up
May 1st 2004

Industrial fluids ranging from coolants to hydraulic oils are expensive to buy, difficult to keep clean and expensive and potentially dangerous to dispose of.

The Alfie and Emmie ranges of compact centrifugal separators from Alfa Laval offer a solution.

Alfie machines were developed to purify and recycle coolants and cutting fluids, while the Emmie is used to keep hydraulic fluids free of water and other impurities that may cause corrosion and adversely affect system performance.

Systems such as the Alfie also reduce the risk of serious skin complaints such as dermatitis. It removes tramp oil and other foreign particles down to 1micron from the coolant or cutting fluid. All the operator has to do is attach hoses to the coolant or cutting fluid tank, switch on and let the machine get on with the job. Centrifugal action separates waste from the coolant and returns pure coolant to the tank.
