Quicker die cleaning September 1st 2008 Guyson International has
installed a Kerry Ultrasonic UCR
(ultrasonic clean and rinse)
machine for cleaning extrusion
dies at Eurocell Profiles. The
system has enabled the company
to clean six moulds in the time that
an old ultrasonic cleaner used to
take to clean one.
After trials to determine the most
effective transducer frequency, a
heavy duty 25 kHz ultrasonic twin
tank wash and rinse system was
designed and manufactured.
Smaller dies are loaded into a
stainless steel basket and placed
on the heavy duty base support
grid on the bottom of the tank.
Larger multi-segment dies are
lowered onto the grid inside stage
one's lidded 144L tank where they
are cleaned in a hot caustic
solution with the low frequency 25
kHz sonics. The tank has two
submersible transducers, to deliver
the sonics, mounted to the front
and the rear side walls of the tank
and low level protection, heating
with temperature indication and a
process timer. In stage two's
lidded tank, dies are submerged
and rinsed clean in town-water. More articles from Guyson International Ltd: |
