Cutting noise
March 1st 2008 Plasma cutting offers
speed, precision, energy
savings and low capital
investment costs. However, the
process is not known for its
quietness.
This problem has been
addressed by ESAB Cutting
Systems with the introduction of
the Autorex automatic plasma
cutting. The entire cutting area,
together with machine portal and
cutting torches, are sealed from the
working environment in production
cells to reduce noise.
An automatic shuttle table loads
the metal plate to be cut into the
Autorex. Continuous material
replenishment ensures
production rates are
maintained.
The company says that
by enclosing the plasma
cutting operation, noise
levels drop from 100 to about
75dB(A). No additional noise
