IMS UK, distributor and processor of abrasion resistant steels has installed an Oxybevelling cutting machine to provide additional inhouse services for customers.

The double-cutting twin head machine gives a consistent bevelled edge. Divisional director Adrian Hance says "The equipment gives us much more than just another piece of kit; it means we bring another service to our customers in house, so we have total control of quality and delivery." The Oxybeveller is capable of cutting all grades of ABRO, as well as RQT 701, which can be suitable bevelled for attachments and teeth.

Typical uses include weld joints, toe plates and edges.

It has the ability to cut steel up to 75mm thick, 450mm wide and 3m long, ensuring a consistent chamfer and quality end product.

In addition, bevelled edges can be drilled and countersunk to customer requirements to accept standard bolts.
