Waterjet cutting speeds turnaround

Since taking delivery of a KMT Waterjet Systems' powered waterjet cutting machine, Euro-Floor Design in Chingford has been able to offer customers a quicker turnaround for its tile and carpet cutting service, producing intricate floor designs in hours rather than days.

The machine is manufactured in Finland by Muototera and supplied through UK agent, Ebor.

Powered by a KMT 50HP pump that produces a continuous operating pressure of 3800bar, the waterjet machine has a cutting table of 4 by 3m.

This allows very large logos to be produced in any required flooring, without distortion or damage to the surrounding material.

Steve Soulsby, proprietor of Euro-Floor Designs, explains the benefits: "It's incredibly quick and, unlike die pressing, it doesn't require any tooling. Once the programme is installed, it's there forever, so if something is needed quickly we can just push a few buttons and get it done immediately."
