Automated adhesive applications
January 1st 2008 Henkel, through its Loctite brand,
has a selection of dispensing
equipment ranging from simple
hand operated products to fully
automated systems. The
technology allows users to apply
beads, drops or continuous rings
of product, or spray, spin or
screen-print a variety of adhesives
for maximum efficiency.
The automated equipment
includes three axis bench top
robots that provide the ability to
apply adhesives and sealants with
complex bead profiles. Working in
conjunction with the Loctite
automatic dispensing units are
monitoring systems that ensure the
adhesives and sealants are
accurately applied every time.
Once a good dispense pattern has
been created, every subsequent
application is checked against
those parameters. If a discrepancy
occurs, the operator is alerted.
When an integrated camera unit is
used, the exact location of a
