Formulas in minutes

The Comsol Reaction Engineering Lab provides a graphical user interface where users enter chemical reaction formulas in a matter of minutes.

The software then sets up and solves sets of material and energy balances.

The software can also calculate the thermodynamic and transport properties of reacting mixtures. The result is a plot or tabular output of the system behaviour, often reactant composition or temperature as a function of time.

At the touch of a button, the software automatically solves material balances and energy balances, including complicated reaction-rate expressions.

Applications include process industries, atmospheric chemistry and drug release in biomedical engineering.
