Grit blasting March 1st 2004 Roxel (UK Rocket Motors) has installed a Vector 150P automatic grit blasting machine from Vacu-Blast International for the processing of internal surfaces of rocket motor bodies.
The machine has a Vacutrol III plc-based control system operating with Windows software and replaces a Vacu-Blast machine that had been in use since the 1960s.
The new model uses a special twin-nozzle grit blasting lance that traverses the internal bore of the rocket motor body located on a powered turntable. Speed, blast pressure and duration are programmable according to the type of body being processed.
The blast enclosure ensures there is no dust escape and that noise levels are less than 80dB(A). More articles from ISPC Vacu-Blast Limited: |
