Blastroom facility for coatings company September 1st 2010 Industrial coating specialist
Austin Hayes has enhanced
capability at its Leeds facility
with the installation of a selfcontained,
dedicated plastic
blast stripping
system from
Mac'Ants. The
self-contained
unit can be
relocated as
required and is
the latest in a
series of
Mac'Ants
stripping units
operated by the
company.
It is centred
on a 20ft long dedicated
blastroom which has an
electrically powered vacuum
recovery system that
minimises compressed air use.
The design incorporates
an externally located three-
phase industrial vacuum with
a purpose-designed blasting
table inside that serves both
as a working area for the
operator and as an automatic
blast media recovery
system.
Austin Hayes' director,
Steve Graves says: "This
removes spent plastic
media to a filtration and
air wash
system for
re-use,
allowing
the costs
benefits
associated
with long
term use of
plastic media to be fully
realised – alongside those the
material offers in terms of
stripping speed." More articles from Mac'Ants Abrasives Ltd: |
