Brake beats bottlenecks March 1st 2008 Air Cleaning Systems, a
manufacturer of coolant
and emulsion mist control
equipment for machine
shops, has installed a high
specification CNC press
brake at its Cardiff HQ.
The machine, a 4m, 200t
Safan E-Brake, has helped
the company increase
capacity to reduce bottlenecks
and ease labour costs.
The Safan E-Brake
concept is built around a
servo-electric drive based
on a pulley principle that
results in a very even
distribution of forces, such
that in 98% of cases no
crowning table is required.
Similarly, a new
generation of electronics
and software makes EBrake
operation fast, easy
and precise. Other features
include low noise levels,
50% reduced energy
consumption, low
maintenance costs and an
integrated safety system.
ACS will shortly install a
cnc laser cutter that will
allow the company to
venture beyond its current
3mm maximum sheet
thickness for subcontract
work. This means that it
was also imperative that the
new press brake could
cope with thicker material.
The machine package
included tooling and
software. |
