Easy-to-use
September 1st 2004

When chocolate mould maker, Down Professional Services, invested in a new vertical machining centre, its choice of a Parkson 810 LW from Broadbent Stanley Machine Tools was based largely on the availability of probing cycles as standard within the machine’s Anilam Series 6000 multi-axis CNC from ACI Europe.

The Parkson-Anilam combination has proved a success. The easy to use functionality of the CNC coupled withe the VMC’s higher spindle speeds (9000rev/min from the 11kW main motor) and automatic 22-tool toolchanger, enables jobs to be run unmanned and overnight which has doubled output.

With X, Y and Z axes travels of 610 by 510 by 510mm, the machine has feed rates of 24m/min in X and Y axes and 20m/min in Z, coupled with a feed rate of 5000mm/min.
