Extra large CNC lathe
September 1st 2009

Less than a week after the installation of an XYZ XL1500 extra large CNC lathe, Kristek Precision secured an ongoing order for large stainless steel seal rings for the power generation industry, none of which could be produced on the company's previous machine tools.

Investment in the 50hp, 1500mm swing over bed lathe equipped with Siemens 840D ShopTurn conversational control, is indicative of the Melksham, subcontractor's progression to larger, more complex machining.

Machining of the 1350mm OD stainless steel seal rings has been allocated to the XL 1500 which provides pinpoint accuracy.

Those on the shopfloor like the Siemens conversational control and Kristek is happy with XYZ's support.
