Green issues
September 1st 2004

Hayneswood Engineering has become one of the UK’s first owners of a Yamazaki Mazak vertical Nexus 510C machining centre.

The new machine can be equipped with Cyber Production Centre software to increase efficiency, and addresses a number of environmental issues to reduce use of coolant, tramp oil and wasted power.

The machine manufactures production quantities of components with about 90% of operations unmanned. It has a 1300 by 500mm machining table and rapid traverse rate of 36m/min.

Spindle capability is 12 000rev/min with the tool shank being BT40.
