Kostal UK, maker of electro-mechanical devices for the automotive industry has resolved a consistency issue bu enlisting the help of Kerry Ultrasonics. Unhappy with the cleanliness levels of components supplied a by a subcontractor using a trichloroethylene (trike)degreaser, Kostal invited Kerry to trial a similar unit on site. Kerrys Microsolve 250 mono-solvent ultrasonic cleaning system has improved cleaning quality and reduced reject rates by 46%. It also meets current OEL regulations for the safe use of trike. The PLC-controlled process has three stages and can handle over 10 000 parts per week.
