Multi-tasking machines
November 1st 2004

Yamazaki Mazak’s Integrex e-800V/5 is the latest addition to a range of multi-tasking machines that the company says have set a new standard for productivity.

Capable of turning large diameter workpieces, the new machine has a powerful 40 taper machining (milling) spindle that enables five-axis machining of multiple faces to be completed in a single set-up.

However Mazak says it is the addition of the e-Tower that is the key to the high level of operating efficiency. Connected directly to the Fusion, the 640M Pro conversational control, the etower’s integrated functions include programming, ordering of materials and tooling, maintenance information and scheduling, production control and the generation of production status reports.

By combining IT and MT (manufacturing technology), the Integrex e-800V/5 provides optimum performance whether independently or when integrated into a ‘Cyber Factory’.
