Precise processing on a plate September 1st 2009 One of the latest Kaltenbach
plate processing centres, a
KF1606 single-head CNC
plasma system, has recently
been installed at RIM
Fabrications in Kintore,
Scotland. The KF1606 has
been developed specifically
for the demands of
fabricators and stockists,
rapidly producing accurate
profiles and drilled, counterbored
and tapped holes in
strip-fed material from 6 to
60mm thick and up to 1.6m
wide, using acetylene or
high-speed plasma.
Used by RIM Fabrications
for cutting structural fittings,
the KF1606 is fully PLC
controlled via a user-friendly,
integrated monitor and
keyboard console. Speed and
accuracy is supported by a
precision material feed and
length positioning twingripper
system on an 8m
long input rollerway, with
laser beam datum line. The
equipment also features an
automatic 6-tool changer for
drilling, counter-sinking and
thread cutting, using HSS or
TCT tools; and an auto-tilt
table within the output
conveyor to exit either small
finished or waste parts into a
container. Larger finished
items or plate remnant exit
on to a 2m output rollerway. More articles from Kaltenbach Ltd: |
