At Seco Tools (UK) in Warwickshire a Ventus 92S dry abrasive blasting machine from ISPC Vacu-Blast International is used for the surface preparation of advanced tool designs prior to chemical blacking.

Manual blasting of the tooling in the Ventus cabinet machine, using an aluminium oxide media, is followed by degreasing in an aqueous solution, clean water rinsing, immersion for a set time in the blacking bath and air drying.

The suction-fed cabinet blasting machine has full width, gauzeprotected viewing window, good internal illumination, easily accessible blast pressure adjustment, heavy-duty full length gauntlets, and integral blow-off gun.
