The inside story July 1st 2006 X-Line, from 3DX-Ray, is an automated in-line X-ray inspection, measurement and QC system that offers complete internal imaging of anything on a production line from a blister pack to a finished metal, plastic or composite product. It lets you check what's inside to a 3D accuracy approaching the width of a human hair and it lets you do it on a moving conveyer belt.
Functional testing can show if there is an obvious fault, but passes over the threat of latent faults. However, X-Line integrates a 3D Xray camera with a suite of software that controls the system, stores and analyses camera information and outputs application-specific data. Alongside the camera and X-ray source, the heart of the X-Line's system is "X-Lines", which is used for data collection from the X-ray camera and applies sophisticated decision criteria to the images. XLine can measure features down to 100m at line speeds in excess of 80m/min. More articles from 3DX-Ray Ltd: |
