Resistant sensor May 1st 2006 Replacing damaged sensors is a time consuming and costly process. The extra-rugged construction of the Balluff Steelface sensor reduces replacement costs and more importantly production downtime. "Many of our competitors offer only a steel end cap mated to a steel tube. This sensor is machined from a single piece of solid stainless steel - not only is our one-piece housing design more rugged, it has superior chemical and cutting fluid resistance to IP67," says Balluff product manager James Wallace
Balluff's SteelFace ferrous-only sensor detects just ferrous. A typical application would be aluminium machining detecting tool pallets, cutting tools and fixtures. The sensor is designed to ignore high amounts of nonferrous aluminium chips that are generated during the machining operation.
The nonferrous-only sensor detects nonferrous and ignores ferrous objects, so when detecting the presence of objects such as aluminium engine blocks, the sensor ignores the ferrous pallets or fixtures that hold them.
Balluff SteelFace sensors, available in 8, 12, 18, and 30 mm sizes, are particularly suited for machine tools, in-die sensing, wash down applications, and other applications that require a rugged sensor. To obtain FREE catalogues or to find out more use the enquiry bar below:
