Built-in drive
January 1st 2005

The new Panasonic B3 from Lenze is a range of small AC geared motors that has an integrated drive with a simple four-point positioner.

The company says that, where previously engineers would buy a geared motor plus a variable speed drive and a position controller, they can now get all three elements in one piece. The result is savings in space, installation time and costs.

The B3 range is available in four powers: 30; 50; 90; and 130W.

Supply is 200 to 240V single phase with an option for 100V. Although available as a motor only rated at 3000RPM, most customers purchase with a low-noise gearbox, available from stock in a range of ratios 5 to 50. For precise positioning, B3 gearboxes have exact ratios and rated torques to 18Nm.
