Contour sensor January 1st 2005 Quality assembly requires correct components presented in the right orientation. Checking this is now easier, says ifm electronic, using its new dualis contour sensor.
Housed in a rugged 42 by 42 by 43mm die-cast industrial housing, the sensor is a compact and cost effective 2D device suitable for a multitude of quality control tasks.
It recognises up to 32 contours of the object or objects, allowing badly moulded parts, parts presented the wrong way, or missing parts to be detected immediately.
All that is needed to operate the dualis is a backlight, available from the company, and with wizard software, it is easy to set up.
Available in three different sizes, backlights are just 9.2mm thick, so mounting space is not a problem.
The entire system, sensor and backlight, can be supplied for visible red light or infrared to match the application and different object sizes. More articles from ifm electronic Limited: |
