SOLVENT SAVER November 1st 2003 An automatic monitoring system developed by Kerry Ultrasonics allows users of its cleaning machines to check the rate at which costly solvents are used.
Believed to be the first of its kind, the system originally demonstrated a total consumption of just 2.4l during a 7-day test of a high capacity Microsolve co-solvent cleaning unit.
The company says its customers are, without exception, reporting solvent use figures as good as, or better than, anticipated. The system also helps cut running costs as occasional increases in solvent use rate can be spotted quickly and rectified. Data can be downloaded to a spreadsheet, creating a record of solvent use.
