ACCURACY BOOSTED AND COSTS CUT January 1st 2005 A KMT Waterjet Systems’ Streamline-equipped waterjet cutting machine has enabled Metal Spinners Group to make cost savings and guarantee that its product is right everytime.
The machine is used to carry out aperture cutting in high value spun products that previously had to be sub-contracted to specialist companies.
Metal Spinners in Newcastle processes a wide range of materials, from 1 to 40mm thick, with spun diameters to 4500mm.
The KMT equipped machine is used on a variety of products that include end plates for hospital body scanners.
The waterjet machine, made by Aliko Automation Oy of Finland, is powered by a KMT 50hp Streamline High Pressure Intensifier that produces a working pressure of 3800bar to give a high quality cut. A bed size of 3 by 3m allows the company to cut components of up to 2.2m dia. The machine has an inbuilt abrasive removal system that pumps out heavy debris through a filtration system and returns water to the tank for reuse. More articles from KMT Waterjet Systems: |
