Costs driven down for temperature controller
July 1st 2005

Introduced by Tricool Engineering, the C6 range of temperature control products offers the same features and flexible temperature control as previous Combi thermoregulators, but takes advantage of advances in manufacturing techniques to produce a more competitive offering.

Martin Storey, director, comments “Manufacturing costs have been driven down and we have sourced new components, including a new tank, and engineered new frames to produce Filling machines introduced Isoblock NH filling machines from Kosme join the company’s other equipment for the beverage market and enable it to supply complete bottling lines for mineral water and soft drinks producers.

The neck handling, counterpressure machines are designed for the low/mid range of production speeds of PET bottles and have both rinser and capper functions. They are said to offer hygienic operation, exceptional reliability and affordable pricing.

The 11 machines in the range are based around a modular concept for maximum versatility.

Container pitch options are from 94 to 226mm to ensure that all sizes of PET bottle can be accommodated.

A Siemens S7 PLC with touch panel interface is fitted as standard.

Options for Allen Bradley or Omron PLC are available.

Reduces risk Free guide Long lasting Koch Membrane Systems’ TARGA -10 ultrafiltration hollow fibre membrane cartridge is now available to the European market.

Already used in many water treatment applications across the USA and Asia, it is certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 61.

The 10in (254mm) diameter design provides 50% more effective membrane area per cartridge than its 8in predecessor.

For water treatment systems, the TARGA -10 cartridge allows up to 50% reduction in floor space (depending on flow demand and stage design). A reduction in the number of skids also lowers shipping and installation costs. The cartridge has redesigned components that provide a quicker, more user-friendly connection.

Cartridges can be supplied with a choice of two membrane fibres.

Constructed from Celmar polypropylene reinforced with FRP laminate, process and storage tanks from Forbes have been in continuous use at Lea & Perrins sauce in Worcester for more than 30 years and a recent inspection allows them to remain in service for a further inspection period.

Ken Law, who inspected the tanks, says “They are in remarkable condition considering the highly aggressive environment they are continually exposed to.” The tanks are up to 3.8m dia with 45° deep coned bases mounted on integral FRP skirts.

much smaller and stylish units.” Three models are available: 9, 12 and 18kw, all powered using solid state heater control that provides 0 to 100% heating capacities, offering water or oil temperature controlled units. Other features include solid state relay control, diagnostic controllers and corrosion-free construction using single or double bank cooling coils with leak stopper facility as standard.

Reducing the cost of maintenance played a key part in the design of the C6. Self-cleaning, direct-acting solenoid valves eliminate the need for time consuming and costly strip downs and cleaning.
