New finishes now possible

Shropshire-based contract electroplater, D Leonardt & Co recently installed an ISPC Vacu-Blast Ventus II 125SR cabinet blasting machine that has enabled it to introduce nickel and tin cobalt plated finishes and enhanced nickel finishes.

The machine is also used for surface preparation prior to powder coating and barrel painting and for general surface preparation and cleaning tasks.

The machine has a powered rotating barrel mechanism that enables the blast finishing of small parts in batches. The barrel is loaded outside the main blast enclosure and rolls in on rails. The perforated barrel automatically rotates inside the enclosure, creating a tumbling motion to ensure complete surface coverage of parts from two specially positioned suctionfed blast nozzles. Included is a free-standing media generator-reclaimer system.
