PRESSURE-FED BLASTING SYSTEM January 1st 2004 A specialist in advanced Physical Vapour Detection (PVD) coating and ion implantation technology, Tecvac, has installed a Ventus 92PR pressure-fed dry abrasive blasting cabinet from Vacu-Blast International at its Cambridge site.
The machine was introduced specifically for the dedicated surface preparation of titanium alloy and nickel alloy based aeroengine components. These are PVD coated to enhance resistance to wear
The Ventus machine is used to remove the dead surface layer that results from heat treatment, and simultaneously creates the optimum surface for the PVD coating to adhere successfully.
To ensure a consistent surface result, the machine features a high integrity, in-cycle blast media recovery and separation system, housed in a separate free-standing power-pack. This allows the machine to be used for the most demanding, precision surface treatment applications, with most types of media.
The machines processing enclosure measures 900 by 800 by 800mm high. More articles from ISPC Vacu-Blast Limited: |
