Quality increased
January 1st 2004

After installing a co-solvent cleaning system from Kerry Ultrasonics at its Stevenage site, contract electronics manufacturer Nemco has improved the quality of finished boards and increased throughput. Kerrys Microsolve 450/2 removes reflowed flux and wave solder residue from bare, partially populated, assembled and reworked pcbs. Product must be ionically clean and flux-free to satisfy customers from the military, aerospace and automotive industries. Bob Parker, operations director, explains The processes incorporated in this new system have a proven track record for effective cleaning of flux residues in the demanding and varied environment of the electronics subcontractor. Cycle time has been reduced by two-thirds when compared to our previous aqueous system. The four-stage cleaning process is fully automated via Kerrys Autotrans Mini robotic transporter.
