MAT furnaces January 1st 2007 The latest furnaces to be introduced by Carbolite combine radiant and microwave heating which, the company says, produces faster processing rates than both radiant-only and microwave-only systems. The result is reduced energy use, shorter throughput times and reduced emissions. The company says that more consistent properties can also be achieved in some materials, including greater strength, improved yield and reduced formation of undesirable phases. Carbolite developed the MAT (microwave assisted technology) furnaces in collaboration with CTech Innovation. Applications include burning off wax moulds for castings, precious metals assaying and sintering high performance ceramics such as zirconia. More articles from Carbolite: |
