Remote visual inspection September 1st 2006 NDT Inspection & Testing has used remote visual inspection (RVI) equipment to carry out inspection of stainless steel, fabricated pipework intended for use in a pharmaceutical plant.
The inspection was carried out to meet ASME BPE standards, and took place at the Ellesmere Port factory of Laker-Vent Engineering, and at the pharmaceutical company.
To ensure all its pipework welds are fit-for-purpose, Laker-Vent insisted on postweld inspection procedures for the pharmaceutical plant pipework. These have been implemented by NDT Inspection & Testing. Using Olympus Iplex RVI equipment, the company has carried out borescope inspection of welds for bluing and for weld geometry. The portable equipment allowed access to complex geometry pipework fabrications. More articles from NDT Inspection & Testing Ltd: |
