Cuts lead times
January 1st 2008

Cuts lead times AA Robotics says time to market for the introduction of new or changed products can be reduced from weeks to hours with its new feeding system.

GRASP (Guided Robot Automatic Sorting of Parts) uses a fast, precise Denso Robot, an integrated, high resolution Cognex camera and a flex feed system.

Most parts can be fed using the GRASP system and, usually, an entire machine process can be removed from many small component manufacturing or packaging tasks.

GRASP uses a vision system to inspect parts, identify their shape and orientate them correctly before a robot places them in the next process.

There is no requirement for a bowl feeder or the necessity to fix components in any way.

The system comes in various forms, from a stand-alone machine to a base plate that OEMs can build into their machine or process.
