Any company using machine tools that doesn’t have appropriate lighting could be contravening the requirements of the European Machinery Directive, says Waldmann Lighting.

To help companies understand how to make light work for them, the company is offering readers a free 70-page hardback book that explains the principles of economic and ergonomic lighting in manufacturing environments.

Called Light in the Industrial Workplace, it explains how lighting can be used and measured, and explains the elements of good lighting and how to achieve it. The book clearly explains the different types of lights available and how to use them to best effect.
