Training the trainer
January 1st 2009

Having the knowledge and skill to operate a machine tool is only half the story when it comes to passing on expertise to others. Equally important, according to Nigel Atherton, MD of XYZ Machine Tools, is the ability of the trainer to make the process an interesting and rewarding experience for the trainee.

This belief prompted the machine tool importer to enrol its six applications and training engineers on a 'Train the trainer' course at Exeter Business School.

The intensive three-day course tutored by Phil Sturgess from business training OCP West culminated in the award to all six participants of the Professional Trainer Certificate accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environment Health.
