Billionth arc struck November 1st 2009 Since its development team
designed a Tungsten Electrode over
25 years ago,Huntingdon Fusion
Techniques (HFT) calculates that
more than 1 billion arcs have now
been struck with them.
The Multi Strike electrode is said
to provide more than ten times the
number of arc strikes than the
conventional red tipped thoriated
tungsten electrodes more commonly
in use. This allows operators to keep
processes running longer without the
need to keep changing and regrinding
electrode tips. This makes
the electrodes useful in all automatic
welding processes,
particularly where
the arc must be
switched on and off
frequently.
In addition, users
with continuous
welding processes
are reported to have
found that their arc stays on longer
when using Multi Strike electrodes. More articles from Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd: |
