Chance to win welding kit
March 1st 2011

3M has further enhanced its range of Speedglas Welding Shields with three new additions and is offering a kit containing shield, welding cap and travel bag (worth £450 in total) to the IP&E reader who correctly answers the question below and whose name is first 'out of the hat'.

3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series Welding Shields feature a flip-up combination of an auto-darkening welding shield and a protective visor. The viewing area of the shield is larger than on the company's previous models (17 x 10cm) and the geometry of the shield has been redesigned to increase peripheral vision. All 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series products feature a spark- and spatter-resistant headcover as standard.

The welding shields afford welders exposed to respiratory hazards the benefits of the 3M Speedglas range and the ability to connect to the 3M Adflo Powered Air Respirator or 3M Fresh-air C Supplied Air Regulator. The shield has integral air duct which provides air flow across the entire breathing zone, helping keep the welding filter fog-free while ensuring comfortable working. The 3M Quick Release Swivel enables single-handed breathing tube connection/release.

For welders requiring a higher level of respiratory protection and good vision in a flip-up model, the 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Air Welding Shield combines the benefits of the individual 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Series and 3M Speedglas 9100 Air Welding Shields. It is compatible with the 3M Adflo or 3M Fresh-air C Supplied Air Regulator. The breathing tube is attached to the headband rather than the shield, supplying air direct to the breathing zone, while the QRS is again included as standard.

Free trials are offered for a limited period. To register, please visit www.3M.co.uk/Speedglastrial.

For a chance to go into the draw to win a shield, welding cap and travel bag, please email the answer to the following question to Aicha Kabil at 3M (akabil@mmm.com).

Deadline for entries is 31st March.
