Welding guide
March 1st 2009

The applications of TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding and pointers to its successful use are the subject of a new TIG Welding Guide from Murex Welding Products.

TIG welding can achieve high quality welds and is versatile in terms of what can be welded and the position of the welds. However, it is generally slower than MIG or MMA welding. TIG welding can be used with virtually any weldable metals, including dissimilar metals, and thicknesses from 0.5mm upwards.

TIG welding machines are typically available in current ratings from 150 to 350A and can operate at currents as low as, typically, 3A for a 150A machine. In addition, they can be used for brazing and MMA welding.
