Welding role May 1st 2008 A Pulse Synergic welding machine
from Butters AMT has been used
in a construction project that has
been featured on Channel 4's
Grand Designs.
Butters AMT supplied the AMT
235 Pulse Synergic, a singlephase,
multi-process welding unit
and provided on-site training to
Paul and Jo Tarling who have been
working on the construction of a
state-of-the-art bungalow.
The construction required
extensive fabrication using mild
and stainless steels and
aluminium. Thicknesses varied
from 10mm for load-bearing
structural elements such as
interconnecting columns and steel
beams, brackets and joints down
to 1mm for aesthetic features.
Paul Tarling used the compact
AMT 235, which is capable of
welding in MIG, TIG or MMA
processes, to deal with mechanical
repairs, such as mending his
dumper truck and various
construction tasks, such as joining
structural steels to support the
concrete roof panels, each of
which weighed almost 2.5t. More articles from Butters A.M.T. Ltd: |
